Mike Richardson was a commercial banker for many years. He was instrumental in starting two banks both of which operated in the SoBay area, both banks were located in Torrance. After serving as President and CEO of Torrance Bank during the late 90's, he started SoCal Mortgage Company with the idea of continuing to serve the residential and commercial real estate financing needs of his many contacts in the real estate industry.

During the recent recession, because of his many banking contacts, Mike was able to continue to serve most of his clients during a time when the banks were being very restrictive and not granting very many new loans.

As an expert in real estate financial matters Mike is often asked to speak at business events. He has taught real estate finance at the college level, and has been a member of Rotary, Kiwanis and the Torrance Chamber of Commerce.

Through the Covid pandemic many lenders and mortgage brokers did not survive the extreme slowdown in business activity.
